1st post - Mr Hamilton! GRADE THIS!!
The following events took place on 16th of January 2010.I reluctantly woke up from my deep slumber relatively early ( around 10.30am). It was always my dream to find up who actually wakes up before 11am. After taking a prolonged hot shower, my mother dragged me out of the house and to the bus stop. We were to go to Funan Digital Mall. As a last-ditch tatic to stall for time, I pretended to have a craving for a certain confection and went to Tampines Mall first. Unless you were a hermit living in the bottom of the Alantic Ocean for the past decade or so, you should know what the answer is. ![]() It's lime sorbet!! Unusually though, the ice cream shops and supermarkets at Tampines Mall had either ran out of stock, or had stopped sellign lime sorbet. I had no choice but to shrug of the disappointment and go to the MRT station. The trip from Tampines to City Hall was rather comfortable. We found a seat each and before long, we were fishing out our books and entering the enchanted world of words. That all ended in Bedok, where a mob of strangers decided to "storm" the train. Halfway through our journey, somebody farted. The pungent smell diffused easily inside the hot, sweltering compartment I was in. Before my mother and I suffocated to death, the train reached City Hall. Holding our breaths, we knocked people aside in an effort to escape the "gassed" area. We were about to reach the exit when the door closed.Cursing and Swearing, we waited for the train to reach the next stop before take the return train back to City Hall. "Bloody waste of time," my mother said. Funan Digital Mall was hideous! I had expected neat rows of shops with high tech lifts and clean toilets. Instead, what I got was a narrow and cramped exhibition area, shops scattered in no order whatsoever and smelly toilets. There were shops selling laptops, game consoles, CDs and there was the occasional Pizza Hut too . Depsite my disappointment, I was reminded by my mother that we still had a "mission" to do. The Epson Library was rather well hidden. It took us about half an hour before finding it tucked at a corner with a entrance hidden behind a wall. The store was painted primarily blue and white with the customer service just a few steps from the entrance. The spacious shop was exhibiting printers, scanners and many other curious gadgets. Sadly, none of them sparked my interest and before long, I got bored. While my mother was filling up some funny forms and enquiring about printers, I'd sauntered off to the next room, look at a bunch of rectangle plastic and metal. ( To the employees stationed at the Epson Library, I did not steal that worthless piece of A4 sized paper. STOP DELUDING YOURSELF, YOU MISPLACED IT) On a brighter note, I saw a Vaio shop and stormed into it immediately. Just as I thought, The next generation Vaio laptops were just as exquisite and beautiful as I thought it would be. I couldnt help but admire the polished laptops with glistening keypads. The next hour or so was a blur, my mother was tasked to collect pamplets regarding cheap laptops for my aunt. Instead of doing so, we ended up in some curio shoppe and bought some ink for our printer. Thank god my predicament was over quickly and in a blink of an eye, I was on a bus home. Whooppee!! Random thought : I'd just realised this was the first time I had spent quality time with my mother in a loooonng time. =X OOPS! |
