2nd post - Grade this Mr Hamilton!!
The following happened on the 20th of January. My day started off with a bang. Dad *Opens door with a bang* : Oh no! It's 7.10am! We're late for school! Me *half asleep* : Whaa? Mum! Call the taxi!! The next 20 minutes seemed to be like the roller-coaster ride of the century. Many times, I saw my life flashing before my eyes. Despite almost knocking down a couple of pedestrians and denting a car along the way, the taxi driver was determined to get me to school on time. However, it was not meant to be. After paying and thanking the taxi driver, I despondently trodded towards the "Sorry, but you are late," one prefect said. I was not very sure if he was sincere. The prefect on duty jotted my name down on his brown clipboard and handed it to the security officer stationed at the entrance. I was ordered to "visit" Mr. Chia twice or face horrible consequences. ( After school and before 7am the next day ) The torture did not stop there. As I entered the classroom, a certain recalcitrant thought I was his source of entertainment for the day and taunted me. (yes, continue laughing). If the saying "what comes around, goes around" is true, he will get his just desserts very soon. I just hope I will ne there watching him. Watch out, I will have my revenge. I was not surprised that I didn't bring my wallet with me. I was resigned to my fate. I decided not to borrow money from anyone and starve for the whole day. At least I still had water... Thank goodness a kind schoolmate gave me a slice of bread. If it were not for him, I think I would have passed out from hunger. Just three more hours till school is dismissed!! Despite today's misadventure, I slogged through English and OPW with "ease". ( we did not have any homework to hand in, thus I was saved for the time being) My already rotten mood caused an argument between me and some team members. I was not open to suggestions and was prone to throwing tantrums. I'm so sorry! At the end of the day, I sought Mr. Chia out. Upon entering his office, cold sweat broke out on my forehead. I took a deep breath before greeting Mr Chia. The interrogation was done in a blink of an eye. I was asked standard questions like "why was I late" or "is that a good excuse". Despite all odds! I survived the Judgement Of Chia! After today's ordeal, I made it a point to change my alarm clock batteries every month to ensure something like this would never happen again. Random thought : If you dislike sour food, please abstain/avoid from lemon sorbet. It is REALLY sour. Second random thought : I forgot all about the change from taking the taxi.. |
